You might be researching msi claw a1m 7 fhd alternatives if you want different hardware configurations for your portable setup. The MSI Claw A1M gives you a 7-inch 120Hz IPS touchscreen with a 1920x1080 resolution, an Intel Ultra 5-135H processor, and Intel Arc graphics. It packs 16GB of onboard RAM, a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and a 53 Whr battery into a 1.44-pound handheld running Windows 11 Pro.
However, you may prefer an AMD processor, such as a Ryzen Z1 Extreme or Ryzen AI chip, instead of Intel silicon. You might also want higher memory capacities like 24GB or 32GB RAM, larger 2TB storage drives, or another brand like ASUS. This guide highlights 6 options selected because their hardware specifications overlap with the original design, including matching 7-inch 1080p 120Hz touchscreens and Windows operating systems.
Our top pick: MSI Claw A1M 7" FHD Handheld.
How Each Alternative Compares
MSI Claw A1M 7" 1080p Handheld
This MSI Claw configuration matches the original handheld with an identical 7-inch 1080p 120Hz touchscreen display. You get the same physical footprint, measuring 11.6 by 4.6 by 0.83 inches, and an identical weight of 1.44 pounds. Both models share the Claw A1M-052US chassis and black finish. What you give up is the preconfigured 1TB storage drive clearly detailed on the primary pick. Choose this unit if you prioritize the high-refresh screen and portable form factor of the Claw line, but do not require guaranteed 1TB factory internal storage out of the box.
LANRUO GPD Win 5 7-inch Handheld
The LANRUO GPD Win 5 brings substantial hardware upgrades over the original MSI Claw. You gain an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, AMD Radeon 8060S graphics, 32GB of memory, and 2TB of storage, doubling the Claw’s 16GB RAM and 1TB capacity. You also keep a 7-inch 120Hz 1080p touchscreen. However, you give up lightweight portability. This device weighs 4.96 pounds compared to the original’s 1.44 pounds and measures 3.3 inches thick. Pick this alternative if you want desktop-grade processing, double the storage, and higher RAM, and you do not mind carrying a significantly heavier device.
WEELIAO GPD Win Mini Pro 7" 120Hz
The WEELIAO GPD Win Mini Pro upgrades computing specs over the MSI Claw while changing overall proportions. It provides an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage capacity. That offers twice the memory and double the storage of the original. Both handhelds feature a 7-inch 120Hz 1080p touchscreen. In exchange, the Win Mini Pro has a thicker 2.88-inch and wider 6.65-inch body compared to the Claw’s slim 0.83-inch depth, though it is shorter at 8.46 inches. Choose this model if you need high memory and storage in a shorter frame.
MSI Claw A1M 7" 1080p 120Hz
This MSI Claw variant matches the top pick in almost every physical and technical attribute. You get the same Intel Ultra 5-135H processor, 16GB of onboard RAM, 53 Whr battery, and Thunderbolt 4 support. Dimensions remain 11.6 by 4.6 by 0.83 inches at 1.44 pounds, fronted by the identical 7-inch 120Hz 1080p panel and Windows 11 Pro operating system. What you give up is drive capacity, as this model includes a 512GB SSD instead of 1TB. Select this version if you want the exact same Intel handheld experience but do not need more than 512GB of internal storage.
ASUS ROG Ally 7" 2TB
The ASUS ROG Ally swaps Intel architecture for an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor and doubles your storage capacity to 2TB over the MSI Claw’s 1TB drive. It retains a matching 7-inch 120Hz 1080p touchscreen and 16GB of RAM. The chassis is slightly narrower and shorter at 11 by 4.37 inches, finished in white. What you give up is Intel Arc graphics and Windows 11 Pro, as this model runs base Windows 11. Pick this handheld if you want double the built-in storage space and an AMD Ryzen processor in a slightly more compact white casing.
HIDevolution ASUS ROG Ally X 7" 2TB
The HIDevolution ASUS ROG Ally X increases both memory and storage over the original MSI Claw. You receive 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 2TB PCIe SSD, surpassing the Claw’s 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It runs an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with AMD Radeon graphics behind a 7-inch 120Hz 1080p display. In exchange, the Ally X is thicker at 1.45 inches compared to 0.83 inches, slightly heavier at 1.49 pounds, and runs Windows 11 Home instead of Windows 11 Pro. Pick this unit if you need expanded 24GB memory and 2TB storage for demanding portable games.
