How We Picked These Handhelds
This guide covers 11 handheld PCs featuring the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor. A device qualifies when its listing states this processor in the title or feature list. Only one variant per product family is shown. All details come directly from published specifications, and products are not physically handled.
You see products ordered with in-stock products first, then by Amazon sales rank (better-selling products first). We also note published specifications such as memory, storage capacity, refresh rate, and screen size to help you compare each option.
Choosing the Right 8840U Handheld PC
-
Evaluating Handheld Screen Size
Screen size dictates overall device footprint and how you interact with software. A 7-inch screen offers the most compact build for pure handheld use on the go. An 8.8-inch display balances viewing clarity and compact dimensions. A 10.1-inch panel provides maximum viewable area for detailed interfaces, but it increases the overall chassis size. Choose the 7-inch display on the Cutesliving GPD Win Mini if portability is your main priority.
-
Selecting Display Refresh Rate
Refresh rate measures how many times per second the display updates its image. A higher rate delivers smoother motion during fast gameplay. The handhelds in this guide offer either 120Hz or 144Hz panels. A 120Hz display provides fluid motion for standard high-speed games. A 144Hz panel increases frame delivery further for competitive titles. Consider the GPD Pocket 4 Mini Laptop 144Hz if you require the highest motion rate listed among these systems.
-
Choosing System Memory Allocation
System RAM impacts multitasking and how much memory the processor can share with integrated graphics. Models with 16GB of RAM handle standard gaming libraries and everyday productivity smoothly. If you plan to run heavier titles or intensive background applications, look for 32GB configurations. The higher capacity gives the shared memory architecture more headroom. The Wisoqu 10.1" 32GB RAM Handheld provides 32GB of memory if your workload demands higher system allocation.

Assessing Solid-State Storage Capacity
Modern PC games require large amounts of local drive space. These handheld models feature either 1TB or 2TB solid-state drives. A 1TB drive provides plenty of space for a standard library of games and application installations. A 2TB drive doubles that local capacity, letting you store large media files and modern game installs simultaneously without managing space frequently. Pick the GPD Win Max 2 10.1-Inch Gaming PC if you require 2TB of factory storage.

Comparing Screen Resolution Specifications
Screen resolution determines image sharpness and native rendering workload. A 1080p display balances sharp visual details with lower rendering demands on the integrated graphics chip. A QHD panel delivers sharper visuals and increased text clarity, which benefits fine UI elements and general computing. However, higher resolutions require more graphical processing power in native rendering modes. Select the WEELIAO GPD Win Max 2 10.1-inch Handheld PC if you prefer a sharp QHD resolution.
