Looking Beyond the ONEXPLAYER G1? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

Finding the right onexplayer g1 alternatives depends on how you plan to balance processing hardware and device dimensions. The ONEXPLAYER G1 stands out with its AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a spacious 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It pairs an 8.8-inch 2560x1600 display running at 144Hz with a detachable keyboard and an OCuLink port for external hardware.
Still, you might want a different format if the 880-gram chassis is larger than you need. A buyer seeking a distinct build might prioritize a 7-inch OLED panel, a clamshell mini-laptop layout, or hardware from brands like GPD or Valve. The 6 alternatives in this guide were chosen because their specs overlap directly with the G1. They match key hardware elements like the Ryzen AI 9 processor, 144Hz refresh rates, or high memory capacities while providing different physical designs.
Our top pick: ONEXPLAYER G1 3-in-1 Handheld.
Comparing the ONEXPLAYER G1 Alternatives
GPD Pocket 4 Mini Laptop 8.8" 144Hz
The WEELIAO GPD Pocket 4 matches the ONEXPLAYER G1 with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and an 8.8-inch 144Hz touchscreen. It reduces thickness to 1.65 inches compared to the 3.9-inch profile of the G1. However, you give up half the system memory and half the drive capacity, stepping down to 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD against the 64GB and 4TB on the G1. You also do not get the detachable 3-in-1 controller layout. Pick this model if you want HX 370 computing power in a thinner mini-laptop chassis and do not require maximum storage.
GPD Pocket 4 Mini Laptop
This GPD Pocket 4 configuration provides the same AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, AMD Radeon graphics, and 8.8-inch 144Hz display as the ONEXPLAYER G1. It also matches the large 4TB storage option. Its clear advantage is a lighter, smaller build. It weighs 1.6 pounds and measures 8.11 by 5.67 by 0.87 inches, making it substantially slimmer than the G1. What you sacrifice is RAM capacity, which drops from 64GB to 32GB, along with the detachable 3-in-1 layout. Choose this if you prefer a compact mini laptop with huge storage over modular handheld controls.
GPD Pocket 4 8.8-inch Modular PC
LANRUO’s GPD Pocket 4 matches the ONEXPLAYER G1 on memory with 64GB of RAM and runs Windows 11 on an 8.8-inch screen with QHD resolution. At 725 grams, it is lighter than the 880-gram G1 base unit. It also features a slimmer profile, measuring 8.14 inches long and 0.87 inches wide. The tradeoff comes in internal storage, as this unit provides 2TB compared to the 4TB drive found on the G1. Pick this model if you need 64GB of memory for heavy multitasking inside a lighter, pocket-friendly mini laptop and do not need the maximum 4TB capacity.
ONEXPLAYER F1 Pro 7" OLED 144Hz
The ONEXPLAYER F1 Pro gives you an OLED display running at 144Hz, delivering deeper contrast than the 8.8-inch 144Hz screen on the ONEXPLAYER G1. It also keeps 64GB of RAM and runs Windows 11. Because it uses a 7-inch display, it is much more compact for true handheld gaming than the 8.8-inch G1. In exchange, the screen is noticeably smaller, and storage drops from 4TB down to 2TB. You also do not get the detachable physical keyboard. Select the F1 Pro if you prioritize an OLED panel and a dedicated 7-inch gaming form factor over larger screen area and 4TB storage.
Valve Steam Deck 64GB Handheld PC
This Valve Steam Deck keeps the 64GB RAM spec found on the ONEXPLAYER G1 while shifting to an integrated handheld console design. At 1.54 pounds, it is lighter than the G1 body, which weighs 880 grams (roughly 1.94 pounds). However, you give up significant internal capacity. It includes only 64GB of storage compared to the 4TB SSD in the G1. You also forgo the G1’s 8.8-inch 144Hz screen, AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, and detachable keyboard hardware. Pick this Steam Deck if you want a lighter, dedicated handheld PC and do not need multi-terabyte storage or laptop-style inputs.
Valve Steam Deck 64 GB
This Valve Steam Deck variant is an even lighter handheld option, weighing 1.46 pounds against the 880-gram ONEXPLAYER G1. While its attributes note 64GB of RAM, its storage is limited to 64GB, which is vastly lower than the G1's 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. You also lose the high-performance AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, the 8.8-inch 144Hz 2560x1600 touchscreen, OCuLink expansion, and the detachable keyboard setup. Choose this alternative if your priority is a lighter handheld gaming PC with an included carrying case, and you do not require high storage capacity or productivity features.
