ME2 MichaelElectronics2 ASUS ROG Ally 7-inch Alternatives: 6 Similar Picks Compared

How Each Handheld Alternative Compares

Mavark ROG Ally X 7" 120Hz

The Mavark alternative delivers a massive storage increase over the original model. You get a 4TB solid-state drive instead of 512GB, alongside Windows 11 Pro rather than Windows 11 Home. Both units share the AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of system memory, and a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz display. The physical footprint differs, measuring 11 by 11 inches with a 0.97-inch profile. You do not gain extra memory bandwidth or display speed here. Choose this handheld if you want extensive internal drive space for game installations directly out of the box.

ASUS ROG Ally 7 120Hz Ryzen Z1

This configuration swaps the baseline AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor for a standard AMD Ryzen Z1 chip. You maintain the same 16GB memory pool, 512GB storage capacity, and 7-inch 1080p 120Hz touchscreen. The physical dimensions measure 11 by 4.4 by 0.8 inches, with a total weight of 2.89 pounds. In exchange for the original model's Ryzen Z2 A processing specs, you receive an official factory hardware profile. You should select this pick if you specifically want the standard Ryzen Z1 configuration for 1080p handheld Windows gaming.

Olivechard 7" IPS Screen for ROG Ally X

Unlike the complete handheld system of the original device, this product is an individual display assembly. You receive a 7-inch 120Hz 1080p IPS panel with 500 nits of brightness and an integrated white frame. It weighs 4.23 ounces and measures 1 by 1 by 0.1 inches. It lacks a processor, RAM, internal storage, operating system, and controller controls entirely. You do not get a standalone gaming PC with this item. Choose this replacement component if you already own an ASUS ROG Ally X and need to repair a broken screen.

ASUS ROG Ally 7-Inch Ryzen Z1 Extreme

This unit upgrades the core processor to the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme with Zen 4 architecture, moving away from the baseline Ryzen Z2 A. It retains the same 16GB memory and 512GB internal storage capacity. The screen remains a 7-inch 1080p touchscreen operating at 120Hz. The chassis measures 11 by 4.4 by 0.8 inches and weighs 1.1 pounds. You get the higher-tier Z1 Extreme processing hardware while keeping identical visual specifications and base storage. Pick this model if your handheld gaming requires the performance profile of the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip.

ASUS ROG Ally 7" 2TB

This model increases both storage capacity and processing hardware compared to the original handheld. You gain a 2TB internal drive, which quadruples the 512GB baseline, alongside an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. Both devices share 16GB of system memory, Windows 11, and a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz touchscreen. The physical dimensions measure 11 by 4.37 by 0.83 inches in white. You give up the Ryzen Z2 A chip for the Z1 Extreme platform. Select this alternative if you need substantial onboard capacity for a large personal game collection without sacrificing 120Hz display capabilities.

ASUS ROG Ally 7" 120Hz Handheld

This version doubles the original storage capacity by providing a 1TB solid-state drive instead of 512GB. It also features an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor rather than the Ryzen Z2 A found in the baseline device. Display and memory specifications match directly, featuring 16GB RAM and a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz touchscreen running Windows 11. Chassis dimensions are 11 by 4.37 by 0.83 inches in white. You trade the Z2 A architecture for the Z1 Extreme chip. Choose this device if you require moderate storage expansion and Z1 Extreme computing in a single factory setup.
