Finding the right lenovo legion go s 8 alternatives depends on which specifications matter most to you. The original Lenovo Legion Go S handheld pairs an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. This configuration gives you generous memory capacity and plenty of internal storage on an 8-inch 120Hz display running Windows.
You might want different features depending on how you play your games. You may prefer SteamOS instead of Windows, or you might want an alternative processor such as the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme or the Intel Core Ultra 7-155H. Other devices offer different brands, alternative shell colors, or smaller 512GB storage drives. The 6 alternatives on this list were chosen because their specifications overlap with the original device, sharing similar 8-inch panel sizes, fast refresh rates, and portable PC gaming designs.
Our top pick: Lenovo Legion Go S 8" 120Hz Gaming Handheld.
How Handheld Alternatives Compare Directly
Lenovo Legion Go S 8" 32GB 1TB
This model matches the original device with an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor, 32 GB of memory, and a 1 TB drive. You get the same 8-inch 120Hz display and white chassis. Unlike the original listing, this unit provides verified physical specifications, measuring 11.8 inches long, 5.02 inches wide, and 1.71 inches thick at 1.63 pounds. It gives up no internal performance, retaining identical storage and RAM capacities. Choose this option if you want the exact hardware profile of the original handheld along with confirmed retail dimensions and weight numbers for your setup.
Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS 8" 120Hz
This handheld runs SteamOS rather than Windows, giving you a dedicated console interface. It shares the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor, 1 TB storage capacity, and 8-inch 120Hz touchscreen. At 0.89 inches thick and 10.3 inches long, its dimensions are notably more compact. To gain this slimmer chassis and dedicated gaming operating system, you give up half the system memory, dropping from 32 GB down to 16 GB of RAM. You also lose native Windows software support. Pick this alternative if you prefer a streamlined SteamOS interface and a thinner frame over maximum multitasking memory.
Lenovo Legion Go S 8" 120Hz
This configuration swaps the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor for an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip and AMD Radeon graphics. It maintains the original pick's 32 GB of memory and 1 TB storage drive, while defining the 8-inch 120Hz panel at 1920 x 1200 resolution. The chassis comes in a Nebula Nocturne finish rather than white. By shifting to SteamOS, you give up native Windows operating system flexibility. Select this model if you want the processing power of the Z1 Extreme chip and a full 32 GB of RAM within an integrated SteamOS gaming environment.
Lenovo Legion Go S 1TB Steam OS
This unit introduces a black shell in place of the original handheld's white exterior. It retains the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor, 1 TB storage capacity, and 8-inch 120Hz touchscreen. The main trade-off comes in operating system and system memory. It runs SteamOS instead of Windows, and memory drops from 32 GB down to 16 GB of RAM. You give up the larger memory pool and direct Windows app compatibility. Pick this alternative if you specifically want a black console optimized around SteamOS and do not require 32 GB of RAM for your gaming library.
MSI Claw 8 AI+ 8-inch Handheld
This handheld replaces the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor with an Intel Core Ultra 7-155H processor tailored for AI workloads. It matches the original device with 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, and an 8-inch 120Hz display. The design features a sand colorway and measures 11.8 inches long by 4.96 inches wide, with a thinner 0.94-inch thickness. You give up the AMD hardware architecture of the original build. You should pick this alternative if you need Intel Core processing and dedicated AI capabilities while preserving the full 32 GB memory capacity and 1 TB storage space.
Lenovo Legion Go S 8" 120Hz
This model keeps the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor, 8-inch 120Hz panel, and 1.63-pound chassis, finished in Glacier White. It explicitly documents an IPS screen panel, AMD Radeon graphics, and a 55.5Whr battery. However, it cuts internal capacity significantly compared to the original pick. Storage drops from 1 TB to 512 GB, and system RAM drops from 32 GB to 16 GB. You give up half the solid-state storage and half the operational memory. You should pick this alternative if you want the 55.5Whr battery and do not need a 1 TB SSD or 32 GB of memory.
