How each alternative compares
XREAL Beam Pro 8G+256G
The XREAL Beam Pro is a dedicated processing unit rather than a standalone wearable. It weighs 9.88 ounces and measures 6.42 inches long, making it significantly bulkier than the 35-gram Domars frames. It offers 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for running Google Play apps and cloud gaming. While the Domars focuses on lightweight recording and translation, this device provides spatial computing power. You should choose it if you want a dedicated AR companion with 50MP capture capabilities instead of an all-in-one eyewear solution. It sacrifices portability for enhanced processing and app access.
Domars Standalone 1080p Micro-OLED AR Glasses
The Domars Standalone AR Glasses represent a premium tier within the same brand. They feature Micro-OLED displays and a 16MP camera, doubling the resolution of the original 8MP sensor. Unlike the original 1080p video focus, these glasses prioritize wireless AR viewing with standalone Android playback. They remove the need to tether to an external device, offering a more immersive visual experience. However, they likely cost more and may be heavier than the basic model. Pick these if you need high-fidelity virtual displays and superior camera specs for mobile gaming or travel, rather than simple audio-visual recording.
XREAL One Pro AR Glasses 120Hz
The XREAL One Pro shifts focus from recording to high-refresh-rate viewing. It features a 120Hz display, offering smoother visuals than the standard options. It includes integrated Bose audio for better sound quality compared to the open-ear dual-mic setup of the Domars. The frame weighs 3.07 ounces and comes in black. It lacks native 6DoF tracking, so it is not for full immersion. Choose this if you prioritize display smoothness and premium audio for gaming or media consumption. It gives up the voice AI and translation features found in the original Domars model.
DPVR G5 Wireless Smart Glasses
The DPVR G5 offers a higher resolution 13MP camera compared to the original 8MP sensor. It weighs 48 grams, which is slightly heavier than the 35-gram Domars but still lightweight. It supports hands-free shooting, real-time translation, and open-ear audio, matching the original’s core utility. The key difference is the camera upgrade and potentially different build quality. Select this if you need sharper video capture for vlogging or documentation. It maintains the wireless connectivity and voice AI features while providing better imaging specs for mobile users who prioritize picture clarity over minimal weight.
BooaBei 2026 AI Smart Glasses
The BooaBei 2026 AI Smart Glasses support 4K recording, a significant upgrade from the 1080p limit of the original. They weigh only 1.23 ounces, making them exceptionally light. They are prescription-compatible and offer multiple lens options, including blue light and sunglasses lenses. This makes them ideal for travelers and vloggers who need customization. They lack the immersive AR display but excel in hands-free convenience. Choose these if you need higher video resolution and customizable eyewear. They give up some of the advanced AI processing features found in the original model in favor of optical versatility.
Demabon 4K Camera Smart Glasses
The Demabon 4K Camera Smart Glasses also offer 4K video capture, surpassing the original 1080p specification. They weigh 1.48 ounces and feature anti-blue light lenses. Like the original, they focus on hands-free POV video capture and Bluetooth audio. They do not include AR screen projection. Pick these if you prioritize lightweight 4K recording over other features. They are suitable for mobile users who want high-resolution video without the bulk of AR hardware. They offer similar voice and audio capabilities but with a sharper video sensor and specialized lens options for eye comfort.

Frequently asked questions
Which alternative offers the highest video resolution for recording?
The BooaBei 2026 and Demabon models both support 4K screen resolution. This is a significant upgrade from the 1080p found in the Domars W630 and XREAL One Pro. If you need sharper video for vlogging or detailed capture, these two options provide the best clarity. They also feature lightweight designs suitable for extended wear.
Can I use these glasses without connecting to a phone?
Yes, the Domars Standalone Micro-OLED AR Glasses function as a wireless device. They include integrated storage and a 16MP camera, allowing for standalone Android playback. You do not need to tether them to an external device for basic viewing or recording. Other models like the DPVR G5 also offer wireless connectivity for hands-free use.
Which option provides the smoothest visual experience for gaming?
The XREAL One Pro features a 120Hz refresh rate. This high refresh rate ensures smoother visuals compared to the standard 60Hz displays found in most alternatives. It is ideal for users who prioritize display quality and comfort. The integrated Bose audio also enhances the immersion without requiring additional headphones.
Is there a lightweight option that weighs less than 35 grams?
The BooaBei 2026 AI Smart Glasses weigh only 1.23 ounces. This is significantly lighter than the 35-gram Domars model or the 48-gram DPVR G5. The Demabon model also offers a very light 1.48-ounce build. These options are excellent for users who prioritize minimal weight and comfort during long periods of wear.
Do any alternatives include better camera specifications than 8MP?
Yes, the DPVR G5 includes a 13MP camera. This offers higher resolution than the 8MP sensor in the original Domars glasses. The Domars Standalone model also features a 16MP camera for more detailed capture. If camera quality is your primary concern, these two models provide superior image resolution for your recordings.
Which device is best for running Google Play Store apps?
The XREAL Beam Pro is designed specifically for this purpose. It provides direct access to the Google Play Store for AR glasses users. This allows you to run cloud gaming and other dedicated spatial processing applications. It serves as a powerful companion unit rather than a standalone wearable frame.
Are there options with prescription-compatible frames?
The BooaBei 2026 AI Smart Glasses are designed to be prescription-compatible. This makes them suitable for users who need corrective lenses while using smart features. The Demabon model also offers anti-blue light lenses in a regular model. These options ensure you can maintain clear vision while recording or translating in real time.
