Looking Beyond the Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses Renewed? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How alternatives compare to Meta Ray-Ban

XREAL Beam Pro 8G+256G

The XREAL Beam Pro replaces the Meta Ray-Ban’s simple audio focus with a dedicated Android hub. It features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, allowing for spatial media capture and cloud gaming without relying on a phone. While the Meta glasses weigh 10.9 ounces and act as standalone audio devices, this unit is lighter at 9.88 ounces but requires pairing with AR glasses. You gain a 90Hz refresh rate for gaming and a 1080p output capability. However, you lose the integrated camera and open-ear voice control of the Meta device. This choice suits users who prioritize processing power and gaming over all-in-one convenience.

FANGOR FGAR10 Micro OLED AR Glasses

The FANGOR FGAR10 Micro OLED AR Glasses shift the focus from audio to visual immersion. It weighs 1 pound, significantly heavier than the 10.9-ounce Meta Ray-Ban, but provides a large virtual screen for handheld gaming. The OLED display offers 1080p resolution and runs on Android, supporting PC and mobile platforms. Unlike the Meta glasses, which rely on open-ear speakers, this device delivers visual content directly to your eyes. It lacks the Meta’s 12MP camera and live-streaming capabilities. You should pick this if you want a portable monitor for Steam Deck or Switch games rather than a smart assistant for social media and calls.

Rokid Smart Glasses with 12MP Camera

Rokid Smart Glasses with a 12MP Camera offer similar hands-free recording to the Meta Ray-Ban but add live translation features. The TR90 frame size keeps the weight low, though exact ounces are not listed. It captures 3K video, surpassing the Meta’s standard photo/video capture. The Meta glasses provide open-ear audio and voice control for WhatsApp and Messenger, which the Rokid does not emphasize. You gain better video resolution and translation tools with the Rokid. You lose the seamless social media integration and branded lens options of the Meta device. This alternative is better for travelers and content creators who need high-quality POV recording and language assistance.

Lenovo Legion Glasses Gen 2 OLED

The Lenovo Legion Glasses Gen 2 OLED prioritizes image quality over smart features. It weighs only 2.29 ounces, much lighter than the 10.9-ounce Meta Ray-Ban. The wired connection ensures a stable 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p OLED display, ideal for gaming and movies. The Meta glasses offer wireless voice control and open-ear audio, which this Lenovo model lacks. You gain superior visual fidelity and portability with the Lenovo. You give up the Meta’s camera, live streaming, and smart assistant capabilities. This choice fits users who want a dedicated portable screen for media consumption and do not need the social or audio features of the Meta Ray-Ban.

Meizu StarV View AR Glasses 188" Display

The Meizu StarV View AR Glasses provide a 188-inch virtual display with a 120Hz refresh rate. They are designed for travelers needing a portable cinema experience, including myopia correction. The Meta Ray-Ban weighs 10.9 ounces and focuses on audio and social media, while the Meizu focuses on visual immersion. The Meizu lacks the Meta’s camera and voice assistant features. You gain a larger viewing angle and smoother motion for movies. You lose the hands-free calling and streaming abilities of the Meta device. This alternative suits users who value high refresh rates and ergonomic comfort for media consumption over the social connectivity offered by the Meta Ray-Ban.

RayNeo Air 3s AR/XR Glasses

The RayNeo Air 3s AR/XR Glasses deliver a vibrant visual experience with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. Weighing 2.88 ounces, they are lighter than the 10.9-ounce Meta Ray-Ban. The Meta glasses provide open-ear audio and voice control for messaging, which the RayNeo does not. The RayNeo focuses on high-fidelity virtual screen viewing for media and gaming. You gain better display quality and eye comfort with the RayNeo. You give up the Meta’s integrated camera, live streaming, and smart assistant features. This option is ideal for users who prioritize visual performance and do not require the social or audio functionalities of the Meta Ray-Ban.
