Screen resolution
Both the VISIONHMD Bigeyes Head-Mounted Display and the VISIONHMD Dual 720p HDMI Video Glasses provide identical visual clarity for your media consumption. Each eye features a dedicated HD LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This dual-screen setup creates a personal cinema experience that is significantly larger than viewing content on a smartphone or tablet. The 720p standard is sufficient for watching movies, playing games, or viewing video content on the go. Neither device offers a higher resolution option, so you get the same sharpness and detail regardless of which model you choose. The visual output is consistent across both units.
Battery life
Battery endurance is a key differentiator between these two head-mounted displays. The VISIONHMD Bigeyes Head-Mounted Display includes a built-in rechargeable battery that supports up to three hours of continuous video playback. This duration is adequate for a standard feature-length movie. In contrast, the VISIONHMD Dual 720p HDMI Video Glasses features a larger capacity battery that lasts approximately 4.5 hours. This extra hour and a half provides more flexibility for longer viewing sessions or travel without needing to recharge. If you plan to use the device for extended periods away from a power source, the Dual 720p model offers a clear advantage in sustained usage time.
3D support
The ability to view three-dimensional content varies between these two models. The VISIONHMD Dual 720p HDMI Video Glasses explicitly supports dual 3D video formats, including Frame Packing Blu-ray 3D and Side-by-Side. This allows you to watch 3D movies directly if your source device outputs the correct signal. The VISIONHMD Bigeyes Head-Mounted Display description focuses on its budget-friendly nature and 2D viewing experience, with no mention of 3D compatibility. If you have a library of 3D films or wish to experience immersive 3D content, the Dual 720p model is the necessary choice. The Bigeyes model is designed primarily for standard 2D media.
Adjustable diopters
Both devices are designed to accommodate users with myopia without the need for separate prescription glasses. The VISIONHMD Bigeyes Head-Mounted Display features freely adjustable diopters ranging from 0 to 500 degrees. Similarly, the VISIONHMD Dual 720p HDMI Video Glasses supports adjustable inter-pupillary distance and myopic adjustments between 0 and 5.0 Diopters, which equates to 500 degrees. This means both headsets can correct vision for nearsighted users up to the same limit. You can adjust the focus to match your eyesight, ensuring a clear image. Since both models offer this essential feature for comfortable viewing, neither has an advantage here.
Physical dimensions
The physical build and size of both head-mounted displays are identical. Both the VISIONHMD Bigeyes Head-Mounted Display and the VISIONHMD Dual 720p HDMI Video Glasses share the same dimensions: 17.3 by 8 by 5.7 centimeters. In imperial measurements, both measure 3.15 inches in width, 2.24 inches in height, and 6.81 inches in length. This consistency suggests they share a similar chassis design. The VISIONHMD Dual 720p HDMI Video Glasses also lists a weight of 10.8 ounces, while the weight for the Bigeyes model is not specified in the data. Assuming similar construction, the fit and comfort should be comparable. You will get the same form factor regardless of your choice.
