Key specs explained
Color: White
The headset and controllers are white. This color choice affects how the device looks on your desk or shelf. You may prefer this neutral tone to match other electronics. It does not impact performance. When shopping for handhelds, note that color is purely aesthetic. You should choose based on personal taste rather than technical capability.
Weight: 9.33 pounds
The bundle weighs 9.33 pounds. This is the total weight of the headset, camera, controllers, and game. You will not carry this device around. It is a stationary setup. When comparing handheld gaming PCs, remember they are much lighter. You can hold them for hours. This VR kit requires a fixed location and desk space.
Width: 18 inches
The package width is 18 inches. This dimension tells you how much horizontal space the box occupies. You need a flat surface large enough to hold all components. This is not the headset size alone. When buying handheld PCs, check their compactness. This VR bundle is bulky. Ensure you have adequate room for storage and setup.
Height: 12 inches
The package height is 12 inches. This vertical measurement helps you fit the box on shelves or in closets. It indicates the stack size of the contents. You must account for this height when planning storage. Handheld gaming PCs are thin and portable. This VR bundle is a large, static unit that requires dedicated vertical clearance.
Length: 12 inches
The package length is 12 inches. This depth measurement completes the box dimensions. You need to ensure your storage area can accommodate this depth. It helps you visualize the footprint of the bundle. Unlike handheld PCs, which are small enough for a pocket, this VR system is substantial. Plan your space accordingly for long-term storage.
Design and Build Analysis
The listing describes the Sony PlayStation VR Skyrim Bundle as a white unit. This neutral color helps the headset and controllers blend into your entertainment setup. You get the headset, PlayStation Camera, two Move controllers, and the Skyrim VR game in one package. The design prioritizes function over flashy aesthetics. The white finish is simple and clean. It does not add performance benefits. You can place it on a shelf or desk without drawing too much attention. The color choice is purely visual. It matches other white electronics if you have them. This makes the system feel less intrusive in your living space.
According to the listing, the bundle weighs 9.33 pounds. It measures 18 inches wide, 12 inches high, and 12 inches long. These dimensions indicate a substantial package. You need enough space to store the headset and its accessories. The size suggests the headset is not ultra-portable. You will likely keep it in a dedicated gaming area. The weight is manageable for short sessions. You can hold the controllers comfortably. The Move controllers offer precise motion tracking. This layout supports immersive gameplay. You plug the headset and camera directly into your PS4. This simple connection reduces cable clutter. The AC adapter powers the system. This setup is stable and reliable. You do not need batteries for the main unit. The design focuses on a seated or stationary VR experience. It is built for your home console.
Setup and everyday use guide
Setting up this bundle is straightforward. You simply connect the PlayStation VR headset and the PlayStation Camera to your PS4 system. The listing notes that the power source is an AC adapter, so you will need a nearby outlet. This direct connection method means you do not need additional complex wiring for the core components. The bundle includes two PlayStation Move controllers, which you will pair with the console to interact with games. The included Skyrim VR game is a full-length open-world title. This means you are not getting a demo or a short experience. You get the complete epic fantasy masterpiece reimagined for virtual reality. The setup process focuses on connecting the hardware to your existing PlayStation 4. Once connected, the camera tracks your movements and the controllers. This allows you to enter the game world. The physical size of the package is 18 by 12 by 12 inches. The weight is 9.33 pounds. These dimensions suggest the box is substantial but manageable for storage when not in use. The white color of the headset and controllers helps it blend into most entertainment setups. Daily use involves plugging in the AC adapter and ensuring the camera has a clear view of your play area. The Move controllers require you to hold them and move them to navigate the virtual environment. The system relies on the PS4 for processing power. You do not need a separate computer or mobile device. The experience is tied directly to the console you already own. This makes the entry barrier lower if you already have a PS4. The focus is on immersion within the Skyrim world. You can explore the open world using the included hardware. The setup is designed to be simple for existing PlayStation users.
